I watched the Dead Like Me movie and I loved it. I mean, I do wish it had been much longer, with more reaper closure, but at least they had closure between George and Reggie. Another beef I had but could look pass was getting rid of Rube and re-casting Daisy. It was a cool story line, and I really think they could do another movie... maybe just ONE MORE? It was pretty open-ended.

Anyway, it was nice to see the whole gang (well, almost) again after five years.

Patrick McGoohan died yesterday. He is not a number anymore. He is a free man.

I had to deliver the news to my little sister. She was crazy about The Prisoner. I fulfilled my duty in making her life a little sadder.

I used to say, "Be seeing you," all the time to people, complete with the hand motion, rather than saying goodbye... maybe I'll bring the habit back for old time's sake and as a homage.

Also, Fantasy Island's Ricardo Montalban died.

That's it.

Be seeing you, Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.

Thanks to everyone who showed their sympathies for my grampa's passing. My mom sent that picture to everybody. Apparently, my step-grandma (his widow) is the only one who hated it. Everyone else loves it, though. Because he's smiling and I guess he tends to be pretty grumpy (he never has been grumpy to me, so I've never really seen that side of him).

In other news, the LOVELY [livejournal.com profile] vashsbitch (Kura Kura Kura Kura Kura Kura Kura - chan) bestowed upon me the latest X-Japan single I.V. which rocks for two reasons. 1. X-Japan rocks in general. and 2. X-Japan is back together!

Also, Charles gave me a copy of Nine Inch Nails's new album Year Zero, which I am listening to right now. It's awesome. It's the first glimpse this new computer has seen of NIN yet. I have to find my old cds and upload them yet.

Also, I need to learn to knit. I have many books on the subject (including the ever-popular Stitch-N-Bitch Nation (as well as SnB Happy Hookers- which I should probably crack open since I've forgotten how to crochet). I threw out all my old yarn that I got from dumpster diving, and am left with one ball left that may very well be too crappy to knit with too. I gave knitting a go the other day, but it was so hard that I actually started sweating and getting really pissed at it. Maybe the third time's a charm.

Lastly, I have a grilled cheese sammich waiting for me downstairs.

Ta-ta.

LOS ANGELES - Funk singer Rick James, best known for the 1981 hit "Super Freak," died Friday, apparently of natural causes, police said.

James, 56, died at 9:45 a.m. at a residence near Universal City, said Officer Esther Reyes, a Police Department spokeswoman.

"He died apparently of natural causes. We learned of his death after responding to a radio call," Reyes said.

After his big hit, James' fame began to fade as he became embroiled in legal problems and health troubles.

James was convicted in 1993 of assaulting two women. The first attack occurred in 1991 when he restrained and burned a young woman with a hot pipe during a cocaine binge at his house in West Hollywood. He was free on bail when the second assault occurred in 1992 in James' hotel room.

James was sentenced to more than two years in state prison.

In 1997, he released a new album, but a year later he suffered a stroke while performing at Denver's Mammoth Events Center, derailing a comeback tour.

In 1998 he also underwent hip replacement surgery.

In other news, it was a rough morning at the hospital and at the end of it all, they said I'm showing VERY VERY early warning signs of diabetes. Not to say I'm in the danger zone quite yet, but I'm skating the edge of a normal blood-sugar reading. Apparently, I have a slight resistance to insulin (sp?). Worrysome, kinda, but not too much. I can still avoid it. They said if I don't take good care of myself, I'd end up with it about 20 years down the line. "So... I've got some time?" I replied. I was feeling mighty yucky, so I just went home. I wanted to go see Sam, and see if [livejournal.com profile] coffingirl was home. But I was just so dead tired. I went right home and passed out. Missed dinner. Got a migrain instead.

I picked up my stack of comics, which kept me entertained the whole night, since there weren't any good movies on TBS. The best I got was The Professional on amc and Little Nikki on fox.
They make SILENT HILL the comic book! You bet your hot little ass I picked those up. They were okay. The art was pretty cool. Also picked up AUTUMN #1 and Too Much Coffee Man.

And today, I stopped off at Barnes and Noble to find the Invader ZIM dvd for mum's birthday next week, but they didn't have it, so I indulged my senses and picked up Verde's Il Trovatore, my favorite opera EVER! I can't wait to listen to it.

So now you know, rick james is dead, I like comics and opera, and I'm a compulsive spender.
Cheers!

I freaked out when [livejournal.com profile] kateweb posted my obituary. Then I remembered, she named one of her mice after me.

It's like looking into the future:

Fawn died late last night. She was with child. It was sad. I found her on the floor this morning. I have not yet found her head but I have laid her to rest in the yard. She will be missed .

she was a cute little mouse.

Rest in peace Fawn my little moucy.
