Last week, Charles and I went to see a silent movie (The Adventures Of Prince Achmed) at the Dryden. It was completely silhouetted and accompanied by an awesome live duet called Dreamland Faces. One plays the musical saw and they both play the accordian. I got both the 45s they were selling and bought a saw the next day, bringing my bow to the hardware store to test out the options.

Thursday/Friday, we went to see midnight showing of Harry Potter. I really wish I knew how to build puppets with latex because I REALLY want a baby-Lord Voldemort. Did you see it? I just wanted to play with it! It was so hideously cute!

Saturday (or was it later on Friday?), we went to a Gilbert and Sullivan musical. Let me tell you this much... don't go to see a G&S musical in Rochester. The players who perform them really suck. Charles was trying to convince me that G&S really ISN'T this bad, but sheesh! There's two, maybe three actors who can actually act and sing in that cast. So we left at intermission (after grabbing free goodies).

Sunday, we had a Jay's Diner thanksgiving meal which cost us 10 bucks (we had one to split). Afterwards, we went to see Return to OZ at the Dryden, but were a few moments too late, so we got in free (by way of sneaking upstairs). Afterwards, I got to ask a question to the director at the Q&A, and then got him to sign my copy. Awesome :)

Also, we rented Fantastic Planet (very cool) and the first season of Carnivále (amazing- though I've only seen half of it so far). Charles made copies of FP and we're working on getting through Carnivale.

That's it.

Oh, also... IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!

Torture commenced at 6am. I didn't think it'd be torture when I went in, but boy, I sure am sore now.
They get me up early so they can get the IVs in before the study starts. Today, as they said, I did not bring my veins. I have 9, count 'em, 9 puncture wounds that are purple with bruises. This was all for two IVs, mind you. They ended up putting them on each hand instead of just the one. You have no idea how sore I am right now. Get stung by a big bee 9 times and then proceed to beat the living hell out of the spots, and you'll get my arms. Bruised and swollen. I can hardly bend my wrists back. I hurt :(
But I did get to watch some decent shows: Captain Ron, Fifth Element... and History's Mysteries, 3 episodes: M.S. Frankenstein, Real Dracula, and Jack the Ripper.

.

After I got out, I walked over to meet [livejournal.com profile] keeblerjesus at Mt. Hope cemetery, and we explored (though I had to rest some- I had my overnight junk on my back and it was cutting the circulation I needed to make my war-wounds not hurt so much). We went down paths I hadn't explored before, so it was new to both of us. And we found the coolest old-cemetery fields, each with their own awesome tree. Relaxing and adventures ensued. And we ended the day waiting for mum to get me at the chappel (or whatever it was) steps. Now just remind me not to hit on him with the back of my hand... OUCH!
Oh! And we met an awesome inchworm we named Stutters :)

.

And my cat (not fat boy) is most likely going to be put down. Why? He keeps shitting and pissing wherever the hell he wants, and I just confirmed that it really is him. STINKY!! Unless any of you wants to save him???

Things are going swimmingly. It's getting hot and I LOVE IT!! Rhuss says it's like being back in Cali. He says he'll visit me if I make it to San Diego, like I've always wanted to. Maybe school? I'll need to save about 2K at the very least if I want to make it (minus travel)...

We drove back from Denny's and there was massive 'blood' on the half-moon. I'm going to make a point to stop at that creepy abandoned house on the corner of Loud and 31. I've been just pulling over and looking because Rhuss is creeped out by it. Hopefully I'll remember to stop today while it's still light.

Rhuss just drew some crazy awesome art on my wall. And a little gothy-pretentious poem that starts out cute, and then the pretention consumes it ;) It's called DOOM (tm) He added wings and a halo to my fashion obsessed airhead (yes, fashion is spelled wrong) which I will take a picture of and post soon.

So I'm off to Guitar Center to fuck around. Maybe apply?

Also, Beanie wants to do a road trip down to NYC. I hope I'll have some cash and time to do it.

Pigtails today.

HAHA! James and I both had a court date today. I didn't go because I forgot my receipt for the inspection sticker, and James closed the cafe early (really early) in order to run errands before 7. Then I called him and said I wasn't going to make it to writer's guild so I could spend time with (quote unquote) my girl. (okay, that'll make more sense when you see this).

We went to see 50 First Dates, which was cute as hell, but I didn't expect it to end that way. We also had McFlurries. I haven't even seen one of those since I worked there (ugh).

Oh, and to [livejournal.com profile] deluin, while I'm thinking of it... I'd like to finish reading your manuscript, as well as start playing around ideas for that comic. And also, get better, wordass.

Had a nice little date with [livejournal.com profile] wickidpisa today. It took forever to get him out of bed!!!!!! I posted something on his journal while I waited, so everyone go look at it and laugh.

We went to Dennies and he wore cute dollar-store bunny ears. A really really REALLY old guy asked him if he was part rabbit :)

I hung out in his room after we got back while I was locked out of Jon's room. Then I read most of Sexy Losers.

And that's about it.

Oh yeah, and I have to pee.

Last night (running through this morning) I had a nice little play date with Ben. While everyone else went to see Drums and Tuba, Ben and I (cashless) decided to walk down Monroe Ave.

On the way down Canterbury, we passed by a house with a for sale sign in front and attached to it was an envelopy thingy that said "take one". There was nothing inside, so I snuck onto their lawn, swiped a flower and put it inside.

When we got to Monroe, we stopped into Show World to buy fishnets (exactly the make I'd lost some time ago, except much cheaper) and talked to bary for a bit. He told us that he just found out this kid he always helped out just stole some 40 dollar handcuffs. After we left, Ben told me that if I found that guy and got the cuffs back that he'd give me a job for sure. I'd get discounts. We'd be 'buds', and so on.

We walked down to the Bug Jar and contemplated trying to sneak in, but I knew the bouncer was big and scary and big and big. No one was playing at that time so we had nothing to stop and listen to from outside, so we kept walking. I saw the guys from Fake Brains packing it up so I asked if we helped them out, they could get us in free. They hadn't such emaculate powers, alas. But we had a nice chat with Andrew, the lead singer, who, by chewing the fat with us, avoided all the work of packing.

After gaining some free stickers and exchanging emails with Andrew, we headed on. We ended up somewhere near 490 or so and hit a side street where we dropped dimes off an overpass. I spotted a sign just laying there on the way back to Monroe. Snow Route bla bla bla is what it said, I believe. We both kinda wanted it, but Ben wanted it more and I couldn't bring it home on my bike anyway, so I let him have it. So Ben carried a sign throughout the rest of the night.

We headed back the way we came (saw a bunny sticker on someones car near atomic eggplant) and stopped back at Bug Jar to hear what we thought was Drums and Tuba, but we later found out it was Space Head. Regardless, they were great as fuckin' hell. We sat on the stoop in front of the stage door and talked and whatnot... watched people.

When they finished, we nearly got hit by the stage door and then got up and looked around for Zach, Evan and Jenny. We were about to give up when suddenly I got hit in the ass by the hand of god... ok, it was the foot of zach. We sat outside the club and talked a bit. Jenny asked me about Bach and Avocados and I was completely stumped. Then I realized oh, she thought I said that. I really mentioned something about Beck and Java's.

Drums and Tuba began and everyone but Ben and myself went back inside. We decided we were tired and headed back to Morley's so we could grab our vehicles and go to our respective homes. We stopped at a Dunkin Donuts so he could pee and I waited at a table with the sign. Then he bought me and him each a boston creme donut and ate in. We saw a couple of cop cars outside and figured 'donut raid', but then we saw the cops aprehending this guy and his car. Next thing we knew, six cop cars were parked in the lot and the car was being searched. And our main concern was that we'd get caught with the sign. We stuck around for about 15 minutes and left when there were only two cars again. We figured we were in the clear with the sign as we booked across the street.

Back on Canterbury, we passed that house with the envelopy thingy again. "Take One" it said, and this time there was something in it. I ran up to it and grabbed the flower and put it behind Ben's ear. And he said the night has come full-circle.

We went to a porn store, met a band, stole a sign, heard some good live tunes, had a snack, and ran from the cops. We painted the town red with four bucks between us. I had a great time. We need to chill more often.

So a night of nothing turned out to be a night of interestingness. Because nothing is always something as long as it's with a friend. Awe. How's that for cheese?
