Rush of Things
Nov. 22nd, 2005 10:05 amLast week, Charles and I went to see a silent movie (The Adventures Of Prince Achmed) at the Dryden. It was completely silhouetted and accompanied by an awesome live duet called Dreamland Faces. One plays the musical saw and they both play the accordian. I got both the 45s they were selling and bought a saw the next day, bringing my bow to the hardware store to test out the options.
Thursday/Friday, we went to see midnight showing of Harry Potter. I really wish I knew how to build puppets with latex because I REALLY want a baby-Lord Voldemort. Did you see it? I just wanted to play with it! It was so hideously cute!
Saturday (or was it later on Friday?), we went to a Gilbert and Sullivan musical. Let me tell you this much... don't go to see a G&S musical in Rochester. The players who perform them really suck. Charles was trying to convince me that G&S really ISN'T this bad, but sheesh! There's two, maybe three actors who can actually act and sing in that cast. So we left at intermission (after grabbing free goodies).
Sunday, we had a Jay's Diner thanksgiving meal which cost us 10 bucks (we had one to split). Afterwards, we went to see Return to OZ at the Dryden, but were a few moments too late, so we got in free (by way of sneaking upstairs). Afterwards, I got to ask a question to the director at the Q&A, and then got him to sign my copy. Awesome :)
Also, we rented Fantastic Planet (very cool) and the first season of Carnivále (amazing- though I've only seen half of it so far). Charles made copies of FP and we're working on getting through Carnivale.
That's it.
Oh, also... IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!
