Happenings, and Not Happenings.

I went to Boulder last night expecting to pop online and post all kinds of stuff, but there was a problem with their new carrier and now I can't remember what I was going to post.
I started writing again. I have only 15 pages of the story I started for NaNoWriMo... I also had to write the whole thing over again, because the Microsoft Word on this computer stopped working (I guess it was a demo). It would let me open my files, but it wouldn't let me edit them, or even copy and paste them, so I had to have it open while I had my alternate writer open and I re-wrote everything. But it was okay, because I added some things, subtracted, changed... and now I've re-familiarized myself with what I had already written, and it got me back into the habit. I added a few short chapters. Right now I'm trying to get the basic structure down, so the whole story's going to start off about 20 - 30 pages long, and then I will go back and pan things out to novella length.
What else? The craziness involving The Boyfriend's family calmed down, but now his parents aren't talking to him. They're now treating him like an intruder in their house. Assholes. He's the one paying for their electricity. You want him to stop or do you want to show a little appreciation? But this is a step forward. It hurts, but it's necessary. They have to realize that they cannot control him anymore. He's 38 years old!
News about the apartment: Over the weekend, masking tape appeared around every door, every light, every thing that sticks out of the wall, and the elevator and its buttons. But our door had no tape around it. What gives? Are we going to get hit with a plague of biblical proportions? As of Sunday, the elevator stopped working, and as of yesterday, a VILE stench has made a home in the hallway. I mean, paint is one thing, but I swear they're painting the walls with burning lead and vomit, and I was reminded of when Zach's upstairs neighbour died and smelled up the whole building, and nobody found him for a while, and he seeped through the floor staining Zach's ceiling... and I wondered if someone had died in the elevator or something, but the smell isn't rotting corpse. It's very chemical, and if it's not gone soon, we're complaining. It CAN'T be healthy to breathe.
In other news, I finally finished reading all of the Minx comics, and now I have to wait for May to read the next batch (but I've already read the first one in that batch, Water Baby, by Ross Campbell, because he had a galley copy last time I saw him).
I'm planning to get Charles and myself passports, because as of now, we can't even go to Canada without them. But now at least we'll be able to save for a trip to Europe (but Comic-Con Intl. must come first).
That's it, I think. Oh wait!

Hells yeah.

Have you got my package by the way? I'm just a bit of worried that it might have got lost...

Date: 2008-02-03 12:46 am (UTC)Anyway, you are amazing, and the chocolate got me through a hugely stressful period of dealing with Charles's parents. Thank you so much! I'm writing your reply letter, too. Hopefully I'll have it sent by next week :)

Date: 2008-02-03 08:05 pm (UTC)Anyway - chocolate is nothing compared to the "Alice" and "Fairy Tales" comics :) Chocolate is just for a while (though I'm very happy that it arrived securely and did help you), comics are forever (at least those, because they are great and I'll not give them away in any case)!
*hugs*
