Back in the Fiddle
Nov. 2nd, 2016 09:48 am My violin tutor contacted me the other day, and she asked me if I wanted to start up lessons again. She was busy with her COMPS exams, aside from traveling over the summer. I don't have the heart to tell her she never remembered to set me up with some names for substitution tutors, and that I haven't practiced in nearly 5 months due to other business, anxiety, and fighting off depression.
So I told her YES! But I'm not able to start back up until December. So that's what we're going to do. That'll give me a whole month to get back up to speed. So I've set up a game plan for every day.
The rest of this week, I'm doing just scales and tuning practice.
Next week, I'm going through all the pieces I learned in my first two violin lesson books. The week after (and part of the 4th week) are for the next two books. And the last week will be practicing some of the off-book pieces I picked up, as well as writing some music.
Hopefully, I'll be back up to snuff by December.
