I'm trying to do more stuff. New Year always revives my outlook, and reflection of myself, and pushes me to do something better. It'll probably wane after a while, but hopefully I can keep it up enough to make a difference.

I texted my friend Meags the other night about my winter depression, and how the sun-lamp Chumble gave me is actually working, and pulling me out of the shittles. I told her I feel like I'm just waking up from a Rip Van Winkle nap and seeing this huge pile of stuff I wanted to get done this year. She asked for the list. I'm glad I got to write it out, because I think that kickstarted my motivation. I had to remind myself all weekend that I've got the whole year to fulfill my list. That I've got time. Some things need more time, or need to be done earlier. And I made my list.

What I listed to Meags:

comics, illustrations, portraits, animation, concept sketches for the doll setup, woodwork projects, separate fawndolyn from honey in my gears, find a 3D programme, paint, cast frames and props, sfx, short stories, make a calendar, etc.

On paper, I detailed the list.

Comics:
~IMJH (my pet project)
~Porn (an erotic story I plotted out for a submission to an anthology, but was rejected, so it never happened)
~Firsts (I already mentioned in an earlier post of the same name about this one)
~research 3D programmes (for posing and reference-building)
~check out Final Draft (programme)
~MCC Anthology (the school I work at puts out a comic anthology every semester)

Illustrations:
~fan arts
~watercolor (I have water pens I have never used)
~marker portraits (first on the list, after some warmups: Philip Seymour Hoffman)
~Draw Me (a forum thread in Whitechapel)
~FriendFace (like Draw Me, only I grab photo references from friends on facebook)

Animation:
~research annual festivals & contests (a long way down the road, just so I have a theme/idea, and a deadline to shoot for)
~storyboard & concept art

Concept sketches:
~doll displays
~other builds

Woodwork:
~2 tables
~learn stains
~kotatsu
~at least 3 projects from woodwork book

Website:
~decide what stays on honey in my gears and what will go on fawndolyn.com
~decide on fawndolyn vs. fawndolynvalentine dot com
~learn wordpress

Crafting:
~casting frames
~sfx practice
~prop building
~organize craft room and studio

I think breaking it down makes it look more manageable. Hopefully, I can achieve most of these this year (hopefully, a lot will be soon). I am designing my day-to-day calendar (a feat I meant to have done already, but will have done by tonight, ready to print this week). Next step is figuring out how to manage time, along with the basics: read, exercise, violin, listen to podcasts, human contact, work, dentist (a regular thing for me), and shower (that's one that gets away from me sometimes, ugh).

See you, Space Cowboy.
