I Am Iron Man
May. 6th, 2008 01:24 pmSaw Iron Man last night. Shit yeah, it was awesome!!! Looked just like the comic book! Not only that, but it totally met my expectations (which were high, because it was Iron Man, and the preview seemed promising). I was getting a little too excited during the movie, hehehe. RDJ was a great Tony Stark. Miss Virginia "Pepper" Potts looked just like I thought she would, straight down to the adorable freckles. My only beef was Obadiah Stane... what's with the beard? Jeff Bridges wasn't the right guy to play him... something about his face disturbs me.
Unlike some people I know *coughROSScough*, I didn't have a problem with Nick Fury (Sam L. Jackson FTW of course!) being there at the end to discuss The Avengers' initiative, because I saw it coming when I realized that one guy with the 'mouthful' of a business name was an agent from S.H.I.E.L.D. To those who don't know what I'm talking about, shame on you for not staying til the end of the credits. Nuts to stand-alones, though. I was hoping that Marvel could give us one more comic book movie that was all on its own, but I guess the prize there goes to the DC/Vertigo universe.
As for previews:
~Adam Sandler and Mike Meyers films look funny, but I wouldn't pay to see them.
~Zooey Deschanel = <3... Mark Wahlberg, not so much... and M. Night Shyamalan... ugh! I couldn't believe how ridiculous the preview was for The Happening, and in fact, I wasn't the only one in the theater to burst out laughing after the trailer finished, loudly wondering what the fuck I just saw.
~Indiana Jones looks great, as expected. It'll be the first of the series that I'll be able to see in a theatre, which is exciting. I didn't discover IJ til after they'd made it to local broadcasting, so this will be a treat.
