So, I have around 1500 words in my count for NaNoWriMo so far (though I haven't updated the word count yet).

They've taken away the search engine to make the site run faster (which, in my opinion, hasn't really worked much). They say it's temporary, but it's still a pain because now it's a huge pain in the ass to add friends. But I've found a way...

If you don't have the exact link to your friend's nano-page, but you do have their username, you can go to "nanomail" in the top right-hand corner of the page, and start like you're going to send them a letter... put their username in the To section, fill in the Subject and Body sections with lsdkjfladjf or whatever, and hit PREVIEW. When it previews, the username you entered in will show up as a link that you can click on, and then you can go to their page and add them as a buddy.

Someone had suggested to actually send them a letter, and then check your Sent folder for the link to the username, but my way is much faster.

Unrelatedly, Charles and I went to see [livejournal.com profile] mooncalfe (Ross Campbell) last night at his gallery opening reception. He was there with Sullen Grey's Drew Rausch. Ross gave me a little jar of ketchup, a chance to take his crappy galley copy of Water Baby (which I didn't, because the print quality was so crappy and I hate him), three Wet Moon prints and two Mountain Girl comics.
Charles got Diana Behlke's new CD and talked all night to the gallery owner about experimental and noise music.
I also bought all 4 issues of Drew's Sullen Grey (with a cd of music inspired by the comic), and his Tokyopop comic Dark Goodbye, which he signed for me. Ross didn't sign anything I got from him because he hates me.

The end.
