The Value of Friendship
Sep. 5th, 2002 12:31 pmNothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody I have ever known in my entire life.
All the people I have had the pleasure of coming across throughout the course of my life has done something (to their knowledge or not) to shape me into the person I am today. They have kept my heart pumping warm blood through my veins rather than spilling it onto the new white carpets. These people I speak of, they seem to hold this uncanny power over the corners of my mouth. And I feel I could do just about anything when they stand by my side.
What do we have if not ourselves and each other? I am who I am. I dress the way I dress, talk the way I talk, act the way I act all out of an understanding that if I stay true to myself, then only those who remain true to me as well as themselves will remain close.
Any man or woman ready to stand on his or her own two feet is a threat to the world, and in the end, my best friend.
